Amplify Industrial Marketing & Guidance
AI Use and Transparency

We prioritize transparency and human accountability in how we use AI and protect your data.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is part of how we work and part of what we build. We think our clients, and the people who encounter our work, are entitled to a clear account of both. This page is that account.

Our position

We’ve been doing industrial marketing for thirty years. AI has changed how quickly we can do parts of it – it has not changed who is accountable for the result. Every piece of work that leaves this office has a person’s name behind it, and every system we build is designed to be governed by people who understand the industries it serves.

We’d rather tell you plainly how this works than let you guess.

Part one: how we use AI in the work we produce

Ideation and planning. We use internal systems that leverage AI to help surface and develop topic ideas. That work runs alongside direct discussion with the client and the judgment of the account manager who knows the business – what’s launching, what’s selling, what the audience is actually asking about. Topics are agreed upon by people before anything is written.

Copywriting. Messaging is written by our team, drawn from client materials, product documentation, and source research. We collaborate with AI tools during that process, for quality assurance, grammar, and at times to help sharpen a positioning statement. The substance is human-authored, and every piece is reviewed and edited by a member of our team before it is released.

Design and imagery. For product-specific work, case studies, and downloadable assets, we prioritize imagery supplied by the client, sourced from manufacturers, or drawn from other approved source materials. For broader conceptual work, we may use licensed stock photography or, on occasion, AI-assisted imagery to represent an industry, an application, or a setting – never to depict a specific product. Our designers review and edit every final graphic for accuracy, relevance, and brand consistency, and submit it to clients for approval.

What we don’t do in client work:

  • We do not deliver client work generated solely by AI without human review.
  • We do not use AI to fabricate product specifications, performance claims, test results, or technical data.
  • We do not create AI-generated depictions of real, identifiable people, or synthetic imagery of a client’s specific products, without express written approval.
  • We do not present AI-generated imagery as documentary photography of an actual installation, facility, or event.
  • We do not enter confidential client material into public consumer AI tools.

Review and publication. Client work is delivered for review and approval. In most engagements, our clients publish the final material on their own channels, which means editorial responsibility at the point of publication rests with them, with our own documented review and approval sitting behind it. On request, we will document the source of the imagery and the nature of any AI assistance for each deliverable, so clients can apply whatever standard applies to them.

Part two: the AI systems we build

Our AI emPowerment products – Amplify Search, Amplify Assist, and Amplify Analyze – work differently from the content we produce by hand, and we want to be direct about that difference.

These systems generate responses in real time. When a visitor asks Amplify Search a question or interacts with tools such as Amplify Assist, the response is produced automatically. It is not written or reviewed by a person before the visitor sees it. That’s what makes these tools useful, and it’s also why we build them the way we do.

How we govern them:

  • Every deployment is trained on a defined body of approved source material – the client’s own products, terminology, and technical content – rather than turned loose on the open internet.
  • We configure guardrails to constrain what the system will and won’t answer, and to keep responses within the client’s brand and subject matter.
  • Deployments are monitored, and we hold recurring refinement sessions with our team and the client to correct errors and improve accuracy over time.
  • Where our systems interact conversationally with visitors, those visitors are informed that they are interacting with an AI system.
  • We tell visitors, at the point of use, that generated answers may be incomplete or inaccurate and should be verified against source documentation.

What we ask people to keep in mind. Generated responses are a starting point, not documentation. In industrial and technical markets, a specification matters – so we say plainly, in the interface, that anything material should be confirmed against source documentation or with a person. We would rather be useful and honest than impressive and wrong.

Part three: information we collect

Our AI systems may collect the queries and conversations visitors enter, along with related usage information, and we may analyze that data to improve content and understand what visitors are looking for. Where these systems run on a client’s website, that analysis is provided to the client. Full detail, including retention and processing, is in our Privacy Policy.

We ask visitors not to enter confidential, proprietary, or sensitive personal information into any search or chat interface.

Disclosure and labeling requirements

Requirements for disclosing or labeling AI-assisted content and AI systems differ by jurisdiction and continue to develop. We work diligently to track these developments and adapt our processes as they take shape. Where a client operates under a specific compliance framework, we build our process to fit it – and where a client needs documentation of how a deliverable or a deployment was produced, we provide it.

Nothing on this page is a legal determination about any particular content. Publishers remain responsible for the requirements that apply to their own channels, and we’re glad to give them what they need to meet them.

Questions

If you’re evaluating Amplify and need detail on our process for a compliance review, procurement questionnaire, or vendor assessment, contact us and we’ll walk you through it – or send us the questionnaire and we’ll complete it.
