AIMG Designs Tribute Site to Honor Joseph F. Engelberger

On November 2nd, 2015, AIMG launched a Joseph F. Engelberger tribute microsite to celebrate his life and his accomplishments in the robotics industry. Born in 1925, Mr. Engelberger was an American physicist, engineer, and business man who was responsible for the birth of the industry. Building a site that shared the highlights of his career while honoring his memory was important to both AIMG and the Robotic Industries Association (RIA).

Having previously developed and launched a custom website application for RIA, AIMG built a tribute microsite to be integrated into their existing platform. This microsite allows for the tribute to have its own unique feel, design and navigation while still being easily managed by RIA.

Beyond the design and development, AIMG also researched to aggregate the facts to develop the site content including a custom designed timeline highlighting significant milestones in Mr. Engelberger’s long and illustrious career. This interactive timeline allows visitors to the microsite to visually travel through Mr. Engelberger’s life and research. Each image and biographical fact enables the reader to fully understand the reach and depth of Mr. Engelberger’s technological developments and learn why he is globally regarded as the Father of Robotics.

Today, the Engelberger Robotics Award is the world’s most prestigious robotics honor one can earn. With winners being featured on RIA’s website, AIMG was able to naturally integrate the tribute site and provide a direct channel of fluid transportation between the two sectors of the website.

Mr. Engelberger’s tribute site can be visited at www.robotics.org/joseph-engelberger.
