AIMG Designs Web App with CAD File Distribution for Keystone Electronics

AIMG worked with Keystone Electronics, a global electronics supplier and manufacturer of interconnect components and electronic hardware, to give their website and online presence a complete redesign. Integrating with the client’s internal system, AIMG developed a newly customized and branded CMS website application, including an online product catalog with integrated cart solution, database design and population, a host of user tools, integrated CAD file distribution, and integrated, branded social media.

“Keystone Electronics has been designing, manufacturing and supplying electronic components and hardware to customers worldwide for more than sixty years,” said Craig Bickford, Senior Project Manager at AIMG. “With more than 30 product categories and thousands of products, they were looking for the best way to present and manage their stock as well as CAD files online so that customers, who are chiefly distributors, as well as their own administrators, could access what they need easily and efficiently.”

The result is a robust content management system website application with a custom designed database to manage the dynamic online product catalog, requests for quote/orders, and CAD files. The application features a number of helpful site visitor tools, such as the ‘Part Builder’ tool that helps customers looking to fulfill custom requirements, and a Distributor Locater tool, that connects customers with suppliers.

Included in the customized content management system are search engine optimization (SEO) tools designed to make it easy for the client to add title tags and meta data optimized to correspond to the web page content. “Optimizing web pages for search is crucial if you want them to be found by prospective buyers sourcing online,” said Bickford. “The sites we design are always search-friendly, meaning they are easily accessible and indexable by the search engine spiders. To support the client’s search engine objectives, we  integrated Keystone’s social media sites, like Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Google+, and their blog, making it easy for users to interact with the website and even to share web pages right down to the product level. As part of an overall search engine strategy, social media helps the client to be identified and promoted as an authority for the types of products and services offered at their site. To make it easy for the client to track traffic sources from search engines and social media, for example, along with onsite user behavior and content popularity, we integrated Google Analytics throughout the web application. Analytics provides the information needed to have intelligent, informed conversations about marketing and business development ‘next steps.’”
